In Bulgaria, 82% of shop assistants smile at their clients, according to the Smiling Report 2010. The two largest Bulgarian companies for research using the "mystery shopping" method - Client X and Face Off - participated in the survey by the International Association of Mystery Shopping Providers (MSPA).
The data for Bulgaria show that service is starting to improve, as the results for last year were higher than those for 2009. According to Juliana Goranova from Client X, the better results are due to the fact that customers have become more demanding, which makes managers increase their requirements of employees.
The outcome of sales assistants smiling at and greeting customers is more sales. The mystery shoppers, once satisfied with the service at a particular place, even return there when they no longer play the role of observers.
